FAQ
The questions we are asked most often, with the answers we give. If yours isn’t here, write to us.
Before you start
How much does the first analysis cost?
Nothing. It is work that EKA invests to open the conversation, at no cost to you: you send us your invoices from the last year, or your plant’s data sheet, and we reply with an analysis. How EKA is paid.
I already have a consultant.
Many consultants work for a supplier. We work on behalf of the client, and we assess suppliers’ references and reliability before proposing them.
My supplier already gives me a good price.
The price of energy is only one part of the invoice: the rest is network services, charges and taxes. And that is where the errors are found.
I have a contract I can’t cancel.
Every supply has its own notice period: we calculate it, and in the meantime we prepare the new contract, with no tacit renewal.
Invoices and consumption
Doesn’t the supplier already check consumption?
The supplier never reads the meter: the distributor does. We request the load curves and compare the kWh invoiced.
What is Calibra, and how much does it cost?
EKA’s software that recalculates every electricity and gas invoice from scratch, item by item, with the regulation alongside. It is included in every price list and every service for consumers.
What is an RFQ?
A request for quotation: the same question, under the same conditions, put to several suppliers or several traders. The offers are compared on the same basis, and you choose.
For producers
I’ll stay with the GSE withdrawal scheme, it’s simpler.
It is simpler, and it costs: non-negotiable terms, charges borne by you, payments with no guarantees. With a negotiated contract, dispatching and charges can pass to the buyer. The guide: dedicated withdrawal or open market?
Do you also handle GSE procedures?
For now we do not provide professional assistance with GSE procedures. We handle the sale of energy and of guarantees of origin, UPSA and UPN qualifications, and auxiliary loads.
The report and Mercati 2.0
Who receives the market report?
EKA’s active clients receive it every day. If you are not a client, we will send you a sample report.
What is Mercati 2.0, and when does it start?
A mandate that follows the market every evening, to sell or buy better, with a floor or a cap written into the contract. It is being finalised, and will be operational by June 2027.
The words people search for
Is EKA an independent energy consultant?
We say something else: on the customer’s side. We work on behalf of those who consume and those who produce energy, and our fee is written into the contract with the client. The difference, in two lines.
Is energy consultancy free?
The first analysis costs you nothing: it is work that EKA invests to open the conversation. If you decide to go ahead, our fee is written into the contract with the client. How EKA is paid.
Bill or invoice?
They are the same document: the one your electricity or gas supplier sends you. We call it an invoice, and we check it item by item: energy component, network services, system charges, taxes. The guide: a business’s energy invoice, item by item.
The first step
We start from your figures
Send us your invoices from the last year, or your plant’s data sheet: we reply with an analysis, not with a price list.
