EKA · MERCATI 2.0 · OPERATIONAL BY JUNE 2027

Mercati 2.0

From today’s price to the decision: a mandate that follows the market every evening, to sell better and to buy better. It is being finalised, and will be operational by June 2027.

Today’s limit

The target price stops at the first step

You set a target price, the market reaches it, you close. It is simple and disciplined, but the rest of the favourable move goes to someone else, and the outcome is never measured against the alternatives there were.

Three layers, one system

01

The market data

Forward price curves, collected, cleaned and stored every day: the basis of every decision.

02

The decision engine

Target, trailing, protection thresholds, signals and exceptions: the mandate written once, applied every evening.

03

Monitoring the results

The dashboard, the history of every event, the comparison with the alternatives and the after-the-fact analysis.

For producers

Selling by following the rise

When the market reaches the target, the mandate does not close straight away: it follows the move for as long as it lasts.

01

Observation

The price is below the target: the system watches, every day.

02

Activation

The price reaches the target agreed with you. The mandate switches on, and does not close.

03

Trailing

Every evening the threshold rises with the price: the day’s close minus the delta. It never goes down.

04

Protection

The minimum price remains the safety net: no automatic closing below that value.

05

Signal

When the price touches the threshold: a pre-alert by WhatsApp and email, then certified email (PEC) with contractual value.

06

Fixing

The price you receive is the market price minus the spread fixed in the contract.

For consumers

Buying by trailing the fall

The same logic, in reverse: the fixed price at the start of the year is the cost of certainty; the mandate follows the falls, and buys when the market rises again.

Trailing the falls

From activation, the threshold is the previous day’s close plus the delta, and it only goes down. Nothing for you to do.

The protective cap

The maximum price written in the contract: if the market rises above it, the purchase is fixed automatically.

The buy signal

When the market rises again and touches the threshold: a pre-alert by WhatsApp and email, then certified email (PEC). You pay the market price plus the spread fixed at signing.

The terms of the mandate

Written once, at signing

Then the mandate works every evening, without you having to watch the market.

TargetThe activation price, agreed with you.
DeltaThe distance of the threshold: €2.00/MWh at the start, 2.50 more than €5 above the target, 3.00 more than €10.
Minimum or capThe price beyond which there is never an automatic close.
SpreadFixed when the contract is signed, by quarter and by year.
ProductYear, quarter or month, and the length of the mandate.
SignalsWhatsApp and email for the pre-alert, certified email (PEC) for contractual value: it is a mandate with power of representation.

The result

A mandate is judged afterwards, on the numbers

The average price obtained

Against the fixed target and, for consumers, against the fixed price they would have signed.

The value of trailing

The euros per MWh gained above the target, or saved below it.

The protections triggered

How many times the minimum or the cap came into play, and what they prevented.

Efficiency

The result achieved against the maximum that was theoretically possible.

No promised figure: the result depends on the market. The examples in the presentation are illustrative, with made-up prices.
